Prayers Are Answered

I am happy to report that the steroids are doing their job and Ricky’s speech is coming back.  It amazes me that swelling could cause that much of a difference, but it sure did.  We noticed it getting better yesterday and he continues to speak more today.  The best news is that he has not had any side effects!!!  Praise God.  I know that the difference is all of you praying.  Thank you so much!

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Prayers

I just wanted to put out a quick post and ask for some specific prayers.  Ricky has had a slight decline in his speech this past week and we met with the doctor today.  They are thinking that he is having some swelling, so they put him on steroids for the next 6 days.  However, he had some major mood swings with the steroids after surgery, so please pray that the steroids will reduce the swelling without affecting his mood.  They said that we should notice a difference in his speech returning by Friday, but if not than they will do an MRI.  Please lift him up in prayer this week.

So Sarah the kitty is getting very big.  She also really wants to be an outdoor cat.  However, that is not an option.  This is where I have found her a couple of times.  It cracks me up every time.  Some days, I feel the exact same way.  Just let me out of here =)

Radiation Pics

More Fall Fun

Here are some pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch.  We had so much fun!  The kids had a blast going through the straw maze, riding tractors, going through the corn maze, slinging apples, taking a hayride and picking out pumpkins.  Enjoy some more pics of my favorite time of the year.

A Glimpse Into My Kitchen

I just have to show yall what my countertop looks like when I get home from the grocery store.  Ricky went with me today to gain an understanding of how much time and effort goes into the cooking and juicing I’m doing.  He was amazed at how much planning it takes!

Please let me introduce myself.  My name is Alisa Figueroa. Tracey and I have never met in person, yet she continues to enrich my life every day.

Tracey and I “met” when Ricky decided to play in Taiwan.  My husband had played for the Uni-Lions last year and so we began emailing and then talking as she prepared for their family’s adventure.  While the family was in Taiwan I would “instant message” with Tracey on a regular basis.

The first radiation treatment is FINALLY over!!  I have to say that I was so impressed with Ricky’s attitude today.  The radiation itself lasted 20 minutes, so not as long as he thought it would.  When he was finished, he came out with a huge smile on his face.  I loved the mesh imprints that were left from the mask!!  It looked like pillow creases after a good nap.
