We were playing some praise and worship music the other night and the kids were getting on it. I couldn’t help but turn on the video camera and tape them. I can honestly say that they get their moves from Ricky =) Enjoy!! (Make sure the volume is turned on!)

So, I pick Riley up from school yesterday and Lily is with me. I HAD to go to the grocery store with both kids which ranks up there with getting a root canal. However, I had no other choice. So, off we went. I bribed them with a cart that shows a movie and a cookie from the bakery and honestly they did fairly well. Then we have the car ride home.
I’m on the phone with Pastor Andy from Texas setting up a visit for when we are down there. I hear Riley say, “Which hand do you think the booger is in?” I ignore it since I’m on a phone call with someone who has never met my kids and try to finish up quickly. Then I hear the same question again, but this time from Lily. My extremely smart 6 year old. Surely, she wouldn’t be putting a booger in her hand and playing hide the booger.
So, I politely get off the phone and ask them, “You really don’t have a booger in your hand? Do you?” Silence. Complete and utter silence. So once again I ask, “Seriously, one of you tell me it’s a pretend booger!” Then Lily starts sobbing and confesses saying it’s a real booger.
At this point, I just want to scrub them and my car down with sanitizer. I would love to know what in the world would possess them to play “Hide the booger” but neither seemed to have an answer. Hilarious, I know. Disgusting, I know that too. I just had to give you a small glimpse into my life. If you don’t want your kids hanging around mine anymore, I totally understand =)
PS You may not want to ride in my car either. I didn’t find either of the boogers!
Happy birthday my sweet girl! It seems like just yesterday my water broke at 35 weeks and you came so quickly into this world. After 12 long days in the Step down NICU at Memorial Hospital in Houston, you were ours! You were the happiest, easy going baby and you are still that way…most of the time =)
I love watching you grow up and excel in all the things you try! You have loved your first year of school and have become quite the reader. You love to read and write! At home, you enjoy crafts and Littlest Pet Shops but your dream is to have an American Girl Doll. Maybe Santa will bring you one this year. Makeup is another one of your loves which cracks me up because I never wear it! You love to have your nails and hair fixed and enjoy lots of girly things.
Your passion right now is gymnastics! You eat, sleep, and breathe it. I pray that you always have that fire and passion in your life. Whether it is for gymnastics or whatever it may be. You work so hard and your perseverance has paid off. We are so proud of you!
You love the Lord! You come home from church telling us what you learned every Sunday. When you go to choose a story and you pick up your bible, my heart melts. When Ri Ri gets a boo boo and you stop to pray for him, I can’t help but smile. I love watching you trace Daddy’s scar with your finger and asking him when he will be healed. Not if, but when. I pray that you will always have that kind of faith. Always remember to put God first and you will continue on the right path!
Daddy and I are so proud of you and all you do! You are an amazing daughter and big sister. We love you forever and always!
Enjoy these pictures from your big day!

Here you are today at exactly 12:43 PM! You were enjoying playing with your Littlest Pet Shops and looking oh so adorable. You loved hearing us sing Happy Birthday on the exact minute you were born!

Here are a few videos of Lily practicing some skills in the basement. She narrates most of the videos herself, but you’ll see some backhandsprings into a pushup position, press handstand, handstand holds on the beam, and a wendy on the beam. The beam is floor height, so the wendy dismount is a difficult landing.
I am so proud of how far she has come this year and how hard she has worked! Enjoy!
doneSaturday night was awesome! They retired Ricky’s jersey and we couldn’t be prouder. If I can ever figure out how to get video off of my camcorder onto my computer and then onto the website, you can watch it! Until then, I have pictures.
Dan Bowling was Ricky’s coach in high school and is still the coach so he recapped Ricky’s high school career. He did a great job with the speech he put together with all of his accomplishments. Ricky was a true four year varsity player which means he never played a game at the JV level. His stats were amazing, but I can’t remember them all off hand. However, I do remember that he led the team in home runs his senior year with 8! He has always been so proud of that =)

The kids took turns taking pictures. Here is the one Riley took of Lily and I.

And the one Lily took. Riley of course had to be rotten and not smile.

It was a wonderful ending to a perfect night. I am so proud of Ricky and all that he has accomplished!
Okay, I realize that I haven’t posted pictures in awhile. So, this post will be mostly pictures. I have some from Easter, Lily’s first soccer game, and Lily’s gymnastics banquet. Enjoy!

We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Twinsburg, Ohio near Cleveland. Lily was eligible for her first gymnastics meet this weekend, but we didn’t know until Tuesday! Yikes! We drove up yesterday with friends, and spent the afternoon at the indoor pool. They had so much fun!
I just have to share this conversation that Lily and I had the other night…
Lily: “Mom, I have to show you something but I have to get the balls to do it.”
*I can’t see her. She is in the playroom and I am in the office.
Me: ???? Surely she doesn’t mean what she just said
Lily: “Okay mom, I got the balls. Now I can show you”
Me: Afraid to look
Lily: “Watch! My cousins showed me how to juggle.” (Holding two balls, one in each hand)
So I just laid the kids down for the night. We have an early day tomorrow because we are walking the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk in the morning in memory of Jenn Carter. I had mentioned her battle with breast cancer to many of you, and she lost her battle less than a month ago. She left behind a husband and five children. Please say a prayer for her family tonight.
We have to leave at about 7:15, so the kids HAD to go to bed. Ricky laid Riley down and Lily wanted me to lay with her for a few minutes and “talk.” She could barely keep her eyes open, but she fought the urge just to spend that time alone with me. It is so sweet and such a special time.
