A Night in the NSICU

Ricky is in the ICU and resting comfortably.  His pain is being managed well and he is down for the night.  Kalynn is staying the night with me in the closet waiting room.  It is so tiny and I’m sure we will sleep GREAT tonight.  I really appreciate her staying with me and keeping me company.

The doctor said that he is very pleased with Ricky’s recovery so far.  He is scheduled for a CT scan in the morning and an MRI in the afternoon.  If his recovery continues the way it has so far, he should be out of the ICU and into a regular room tomorrow night.

He was very agitated when I went to visit him the last time.  He is unable to speak right now and he is very frustrated.  He can understand everything, but cannot answer.  It has him very mad.  The doctor said that it is very normal for this to occur.  It is part of the healing process and his speech may come and go for a little while.

On another note, I have a huge favor to ask of all of you.  We have met some amazing people in the ICU that are in a very tragic situation.  They were in a horrible car accident today and the father is in the ICU and his condition is very serious.  They have 5 children and their 12 year old daughter was also critically injured.  Their names are Matthew and Haily and please pray for the Lord to have His hands on  them and their families tonight.  Please pray for comfort and peace in their hearts as they wait tonight for answers.

Love,

Tracey

We will definitely be praying for Matthew and Haily. I am so glad you were there to talk with them.
We continue to pray for a quick recovery and for his speech. That has to be frustrating! But God is good! It will come back soon!
    Love you guys.
