Nature Walk

Autumn is my favorite time of year.  I LOVE the cool, crisp air and the vibrant color of the changing leaves.  Last Saturday was beautiful here.  The weather was perfect for an autumn day.  The leaves are starting to change colors and we love to take walks every weekend to see the changes that happen.  Last weekend was our first nature walk.

We took off down the pumpkin vine trail to see what we could find.

Riley wanted to pick up all the sticks that he could find.  They would turn into swords to fight the mean pirates.

Lily liked the pinecones until she realized that they had sap all over them.

Riley and daddy headed dwn the trail.

We found this huge tree!!!!  In order to show how big it really is we decided to put our arms around it.  Even with the four of us, we didn’t make it all the way around.

I tried to get a nice picture of Ricky with the kids, and this is what I ended up with.  Go figure.

This last picture is very special to me.  The day was very overcast and we didn’t see the sun peek through much at all.  As we were walking towards the end of the trail, I looked up and saw the sun shining through the trees.  It just so fit our life right now.  Even though it could be a time of darkness for us, if we look hard enough we can see the light shining through.  There is light even on the cloudiest days of life, but only if you look for it.

Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.
