Radiation Pics

So many of you have asked what exactly Ricky’s radiation treatments look like.  They let us take pictures today so you can see what the whole contraption looks like.  If you do not want to see Ricky in his mask, do not click on the read rest of entry.  If you have little children, you may not want them to see them either.  They may be scared.  If you would like to continue to see the pictures click on the title or the read rest of entry.

Here is in getting his head in position.  You can see the bottom part of the mask behind his head.  He is smiling as usual…

Here he is from the side view.  You can see that the mask is locked into place.

Here is the top view.  Even though the mask looks like mesh, it is really a very hard plastic.  He cannot move his face at all.

Here he is all tucked in with his blanket.  He said that it is really cold in there.  20 minutes later, he’s done!

This morning was treatment number 6, so we have 27 more to go.  It went well and he is upstairs taking a nap right now.  He is trying to rest at least an hour or two every day.

That’s really interesting – thanks for showing us! I showed Renee and she asked if Ricky was going as a skelton for halloween because that’s what it looked like to her – a mask for a skeleton. Kids!
I’m glad to hear he’s getting some rest! I’m sure he needs it!
