O Christmas Tree

Ricky really loves to get live Christmas trees.  Me, not so much.  Yes, they smell great.  Yes, they are beautiful.  But, the needles.  Oh, the needles.  I sweep them and yet they multiply.  However, it is now a tradition and we always get it on the day after Thanksgiving.  So, we decided to step it up a notch and actually go and cut down our own Christmas tree.  Another new tradition.  We found out about a place fairly close from some friends and headed out in search of the perfect tree.

No day would be complete without a meltdown from Riley.  Here he is refusing to walk to get the tree.  Crying hysterically. (This one’s for you Melissa!)

Here he is deciding he doesn’t want me to take any more pictures of him crying.

Daddy and Lily taking a break.  I love that you can see all of the trees in the background.  There were so many trees to choose from that we had a hard time finding the perfect one.

After quite a bit of searching, we finally found the perfect tree.  Riley finally decided that it was fun and he was going to join in.

Ricky busted out the hand saw to cut it down.

Here he is dragging it to the front to get shaken and wrapped.  They shake it to get rid of any loose needles and wrap it in netting.

Lily and Riley wanted to help too!

It was such a fun day filled with great memories!

That is a great looking tree. We did that many times and its always tougher than you think to find that perfect tree. I agree with Ricky I love the smell of the trees. Make him clean up the needles, that’s only fair. Enjoy the tree and show pictures when it’s up and decorated. Think of all of you often and it always brings a smile to my face.
