Prayers Are Answered

Thank you all so much for your prayers!  Ricky’s MRI was clean and showed no regrowth.  His bloodwork also looked great.  We are so thankful and just praising God for his goodness.  He continues to bless our family even through the greatest of trials.

The appointment itself went very well.  I cannot say enough good things about the staff at MD Anderson.  Dr. Yung and Eva Lu are amazing!  They spent so much time answering our questions and just really seeing how we are doing.  That is a huge component to recovery and they really want to make sure that he is doing ok mentally as well as physically.  We also found out that they are both Christians!  Seriously, how good is our God?  We knew we were being led to MD Anderson and Dr. Yung for a reason.

We discussed his extreme nausea and they prescribed a new medicine.  He will take it as well as the zofran, but it should really help him with the next round of chemo.  It is called ABH and is a compound made specifically at MD Anderson.  It is a combination of Ativan, Benadryl, and Haldol.  Please pray for no nausea this time around and that he won’t even need it.  He starts his next round of chemo on Monday the 23rd.

I can’t end without talking about the amazing family that we are staying with in Houston.  They have welcomed us into their home with open arms and it truly is a home away from home.  We feel so blessed that God has put them into our lives.  Carla goes with us to every appointment and is just such a strong, quiet woman.  She is such a woman of God and I strive to live as she does.  She is like a mother to us while we are there.  Mr. Johnny is hilarious and always keeps us laughing.  Ricky really enjoys spending time with him.  I was scared to death of him the first visit because he can be a bit intimidating.  However, I now just see him as a big teddy bear and can’t wait to get one of his big bear hugs!

Pastor Andy even took time out of his crazy schedule to come and visit and hold a bible study on Tuesday.  Let me tell you, he is amazing.  The Lord spoke such truth from him and everyone in the room was silent.  He preached out of James, which is one of my favorite books of the bible, and my word, was it good.   Ricky and I were able to share a bit of our testimony and I was just thrilled to speak about how God has moved in our lives.  We have made friends that I can’t wait to see in April when we hopefully will get together for another study.

So, Ricky has two rounds of chemo under his belt and ten more to go.  Please continue to pray for him!

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.

James 5:15

G-d is good! This is our new mantra, right?! He really has been amazing and shown through your family how his hand truly is in every aspect of our lives, even when it is not at first apparent.
We love you all and are praying for you daily!

    Tracy & Ricky:

It was an honor to be able to hear your testimony and to see your amazing faith through what i know must be a tremendous trial. Tracy, while Ricky was speaking, i couldn’t take my eyes off of YOU—watching you watch him with such love in your eyes….it made me tear up and i had to look down at my Bible for a few minutes to “recover.” I feel very blessed to have met you guys and hope that i will get to see you again the next time you come to Houston…… the meantime, i will be lifting you and your beautiful kids up to our most gracious and wonderful Lord.
